It's hard to say good bye!
To all of my wonderful students and parents,
As the year draws to a close, I start to think about my hopes for you, my students over the summer and into next year. So, dear children, here are some of my thoughts:
As the year draws to a close, I start to think about my hopes for you, my students over the summer and into next year. So, dear children, here are some of my thoughts:
We
spent a whole year together getting to know each other better. We definitely pushed
each other to be better in the classroom. I think we all learned to ask better
questions and to seek answers. We learned something about giving our best
effort and always trying to “Bump it Up”. We read, we wrote, we laughed, we
made beautiful messes while we learned.
Here
are some of my hopes for you over the summer and know that I will be doing the
same….
Read
a book
Stay
up past sunset
Roast
a marshmallow
Write
something (a story, a book of awesome, a diary)
Ride a bike
Run
Wake
up early and listen to the birds wake up
Eat
your veggies
Spit
watermelon seeds
Play your favourite sport
Play your favourite sport
Visit
with someone you love Meet
someone new
Dig
in the dirt
Climb
a tree
Ask
a question and find the answer
Recommend
a book to a friend
Listen
to a story
Wake
up early, wrap in a blanket and watch the sun come up
Eat
outside
Build
something
Draw
something
Sing,
Dance
Walk
through grass without your shoes
Enjoy
an ice cream cone
Sit
in a quiet spot outside and notice with all of your senses
Take
a swimming lesson
Blog
Split
a Popsicle with a friend
Take
a long walk down a shady path
Daydream
Plant
something
Watch
a movie on a rainy day
Spend
time upside down
Walk
in the sand
Laugh
You
know that you become “my kids” when I got to know you, and some of you I have
had the good fortune for more than one year. I hope you will look me up again
someday and we can look back on this time together! It has been such a pleasure
and honour to teach you and make memories together. Please remember how special
each of you are and how much you have meant to me. How blessed I am to have
been able to end my teaching career with such an amazing class!
Hugs,
Mrs. Chadwick

We are off to the Imax
On June 28 we are off to the Imax to watch the film America Wild, an exciting film filled with adventure and beauty! We will be leaving from the school after morning attendance and then walk over to Candy Cane park for some games and fun. This is also where we will enjoy our lunch before going to the Imax movie. Please send along a nutritious snack, lunch and plenty of water. As we will be walking a considerable distance, please ensure that your child has proper fitting footwear that is suitable for this actiivity. Thanks so much!
The cost of the Imax is a special rate for students and will be $ 4.70. Please pay online.
Hopefully the sun will be shining and everyone will be able to attend!

I am finally back!
After a lengthy and complicated bout of shingles and postherpetic neuralgia I am finally back in the classroom. I will be teaching in our classroom in the mornings only and Mrs. Trudy Yeske ( a former Hawrylak teacher) with be teaching the students in the afternoon) I am still not at the point where I am able to teach full time but I have missed the children so much and wanted to return before the end of the school year.
Thanks for your understanding and patience during this lengthy and challenging illness. I am really excited to return!
